Pressing Play

It's not being in control, that's the hardest. Not knowing what's next... that's even harder. It's hard because sometimes faith is hard to have. You want to do it your way, you want to fulfill your purpose, create your life the way you want it, and push God's purpose to the side. We've all done it, we've all put God in a little box pressed the pause button and said: "I'm going to do it my way." When juggling so much, pressing that pause button on God seems like the easiest thing in the world. You want so badly to just have it easy for a moment, and then that moment turns into months; eventually those months turn into years and you forget how to even press play again. It's that easy not to have faith, but it's that hard to find it.

God never said the right things would ever be easy. And faith doesn't make the things we face easy, it just makes them possible. It makes it possible to drop the hurt your feeling and focus on what's in front of you. It makes it possible to see all of the amazing things in the midst of everything that's giving you anxiety. It makes it possible to allow God to remove people from your life once there is no longer a purpose for them. It makes it possible to heal shattered hope in something that's killing you. It makes it possible to see that God's plan is greater than the one you've imagined. It's not something you have to understand, it's just something you have to take a leap at. It's seeing no way and saying, "this is the way".

Take the first step, even when you don't see the full picture. Take the leap even when it feels there is no way. Strength only comes through effort and struggle. Faith is the strength. Press play.

"I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye."
